VINCI Energies UK & RoI IT & Business Unit General Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

As VINCI Energies UK & RoI IT & Business Unit General Manager, you will develop the IT function for the VINCI Energies UK & RoI business. This is a pivotal leadership role in a group experiencing rapid organic and external growth. You will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and continuous improvement of IT services, ensuring these evolve in line with the fast-changing needs of the business and remain aligned with global and group standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate and coordinate across multiple business units and stakeholders, including regular liaison with the international IT team for VINCI.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate & Communicate

  • Act as the primary communicator for global IT projects and decisions at the board level.
  • Coordinate local IT activities and advise senior management on IT topics.
  • Manage personnel with IT duties across the business (c.16 people).
  • Liaise regularly with the international IT team for VINCI Energies (“Group IT” based in Paris).

Manage IT Projects

  • Represent the UK&RoI in cross country and group IT projects.
  • Relay IT projects to UK&RoI IT stakeholder and manage local IT initiatives, including those related to external growth, relocations, or cessions.
  • Ensure successful delivery of IT migration and transformation projects.

Ensure IT Compliance Standards & Security

  • Coordinate the implementation of IT standards and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and ISO 14001.
  • Inform Group IT of any specific Pole requirements.
  • Liaise closely with UK&RoI Information Security Officer
  • Maintain and enforce IT security policies and procedures.

Onboard & Support Users

  • Define and manage local user support in line with ITIL best practices.
  • Oversee the support call centre, utilising the group’s ITIL tool and Freshdesk platform.
  • Train users on IT tools and promote best practices.

Manage IT Budget

  • Participate in IT budget monitoring and quarterly forecasting.
  • Oversee orders and invoices for IT services.

Manage Hardware & Software

  • Collaborate with Group IT on software and hardware roll-outs.
  • Manage inventory, logistics, support, and licensing of IT equipment in line with framework agreements.
  • Oversee platforms including Fortinet and Freshdesk.

Organisation of Onboarding, Awareness-Raising, and IT Support

  • Define and manage local user support resources in accordance with the ITIL approach.
  • Promote IT awareness and good practices among UK&RoI IT stakeholder and end users.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in leading teams of up to 30 people.
  • Degree, Masters, or extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Microsoft and Cisco certification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Experience with ITIL best practices and service management.
  • Technical expertise in server and desktop operating systems, cloud platforms (e.g., Office 365), networking (WAN, LAN, WLAN), and security (including Fortinet).
  • Experience managing IT budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and IT security frameworks.
  • Ability to analyse, plan, and deliver IT transformation projects.
  • Experience managing hardware and software inventories and roll-outs.
  • Familiarity with Freshdesk or similar support platforms.
