Offshore Training Coordinator

Position summary

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-minded Offshore Training Coordinator to support the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of offshore training programs. The role involves coordinating training logistics, managing competence records, liaising with operations and HSSE teams, and ensuring that offshore personnel receive compliant, effective, and up-to-date training to perform safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Training program coordination : Plan, schedule, and coordinate onshore and offshore training sessions, including induction, refresher, emergency response, and technical skills courses.

  • Logistics & delivery support : Arrange venues, equipment, travel, and accommodation for instructors and participants; coordinate with vessel and site teams to ensure training can be delivered as planned.

  • Competence management : Maintain and update training records, competency matrices, and certification databases to ensure personnel meet role-based qualification requirements.

  • Compliance & standards : Ensure training content and delivery comply with company procedures, client requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., STCW, OPITO, local statutory requirements).

  • Quality & continuous improvement : Collect feedback, monitor training effectiveness, and work with subject matter experts to update course materials and delivery methods; track training KPIs.

  • Stakeholder collaboration : Liaise with HSSE, operations, HR, training providers, and client representatives to align training plans with operational needs and project schedules.

  • Budget & procurement support : Assist in managing training budgets, sourcing and evaluating training providers, and processing purchase orders and invoices related to training activities.

  • Emergency preparedness : Support the organisation and execution of emergency drills and exercises; ensure records and lessons learned are captured and communicated.

Required qualifications & skills

  • Diploma or certificate in training, education, HR, safety, maritime studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Proven experience coordinating training programs, preferably in offshore, maritime, oil & gas, renewables, or heavy industrial environments.

  • Familiarity with competence management systems and training record keeping; experience with LMS platforms is an advantage.

  • Good understanding of offshore safety standards, emergency response, and industry-recognized training schemes (e.g., OPITO, STCW, IMCA).

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight schedules.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external providers.

  • Willingness to travel offshore and work flexible hours to support training windows; valid offshore medical and travel documentation as required.

Desirable qualifications

  • Certifications in training delivery or instructional design, and/or assessor/competence verification qualifications.

  • Previous experience working on vessels, rigs, or windfarm vessels, or experience with e-learning and blended learning design.

  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) administration and reporting tools.
