Senior Contract Administrator

We’re seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator with strong construction experience and a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset. You’ll bring confidence in negotiating contracts, managing subcontractor claims and payments, and working closely with both construction and design teams. This role suits someone who values clear communication, enjoys mentoring others, and contributes to a positive, team-oriented culture. A background in quantity surveying, engineering, or law is essential. About the role:

  • Lead end-to-end commercial management of large subcontracts and self-performed works, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, manage subcontractor engagement, and ensure packages are scoped and delivered efficiently.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior commercial staff, while actively managing cost forecasting, contract compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain strong subcontractor relationships and market awareness to drive value and effective contract negotiation.
  • Support head contract administration and reporting, including managing variations, claims, dispute resolution, and ensuring compliance with internal systems and the Building Code.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry.
  • Experience in all stages of subcontract management, including scope preparation, procurement, cost forecasting, subcontractor management, claims/variations management, completion and close out.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
