Our Consultancy practice has an opportunity for an experienced Professional Services Consultant to work with our key customers & vendors.

The focus of the role will be in three key areas: Professional Services delivery, technical account development & team leadership responsibilities. This focus will be provided across our three business segments; Enterprise, Research & Education and Service Provider.

Professional Services is a key part of the Axians services strategy, and the individual will be expected to deliver expertise in design, implementation and optimization of the customer solution. This technical aspect of the role is a billable service and will contribute to the financial targets and success of the business.

To support the Axians account teams on strategic accounts the individual will need to provide strong engagement via F2F presence to both customers and vendors. To be successful the individual will need have a direct impact on customer growth & to also promote Axians services.

In addition, the role will have the responsibility for being the Team Leader to Consultants within the Professional Services/Delivery domain.

To be successful, the role requires the use of personal presence, influencing and technical skills to represent Axians to ensure impact and delivery against the Axians business targets.

To engage with key stakeholders, a local presence in the Basingstoke office or with customers is required two days a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Leader within the Professional Services/Delivery domain.
  • Support the Axians account teams on strategic accounts.
  • Create strategies, roadmaps & designs.
  • Provide network & security architecture, configuration and implementation.
  • Provide technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof of concepts.
  • Complete project, implementation & migration activities.
  • Design & optimization of network routing policies & associated technologies.
  • Ensuring own and Teams adherence to Axians’ Management System Manual for Quality (ISO 9001), InfoSec (ISO 27001) and ESG (ISO 14001).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to customer and partner enquiries including RFI’s and RFP’s.
  • Provide delivery documentation; HLD, LLD & Migration Strategy.
  • Support Axians partner compliance by completion of training & certification.
  • Encourage a consultancy led approach and grow innovation/automation in the tech community.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Industry experience: 10+ years at degree level or equivalent experience.

• Previous experience in the service provider & Alt-Net industry would be an advantage.

• Team leader or management experience of technical teams: 3+ years.

• Technical experience: 8+ years in SD-WAN, switching/routing & Security hands on experience.

• Juniper JNCIS/JNCIP specialisation certifications. JNCIE desirable.

• Previous Pre-Sales experience would be an advantage.

• A deep understanding of networking, security, cloud and emerging technologies.

• Proven Juniper or Cisco switch/router experience and security design.

• Industry best practice security experience including SASE/SSE technologies.

• Exposure to public cloud providers and previous integration experience would be an advantage.

• Primary vendor experience: Versa SASE, Netskope SSE, Juniper switching/routing, Juniper DC, Nokia switching/routing/optical.

• Secondary vendor experience: HPE Aruba SD-WAN, Juniper Mist, Cisco switching/routing & A10.

• Vendor certifications in the above technologies would be an advantage.

• The design and where required the execution of TAT (Type Approval Testing).

• Develop & increase the utilization of scripting, automation and orchestration tools.

• A willingness to learn new technology, new vendor solutions and an ability to adapt.

• Able to understand and articulate technical solutions to customers, partners and team.

• Organized with good planning skills, attention to detail & able to prioritize workload.

• A good team player & highly motivated self-starter.

• An excellent communicator at all levels (verbal/written), confident in presenting,

good influencing skills & able to establish high levels of trust and confidence.

• Excellent people skills, able to facilitate problem solving, support collaboration and

enable a positive culture/team environment.

• Must be able to obtain SC clearance & have a full UK driving licence.

• Willing to travel (inc international) & stay overnight when the role demands.
