Senior Surveyor
8/4/2025Seymour Whyte is inviting expressions of interest from Senior Surveyors for a potential major civil project in Brisbane’s northern suburbs.
The 1.5 years project includes roadworks, drainage, earthworks, pavements, and concrete bridgeworks. We are looking for experienced engineers who are passionate about delivering quality outcomes and enjoy working as part of a team.
Role Available and Key Responsibilities:
- Planning for surveying on sections of the projects, including economic planning, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Survey Managers and the like, assisting to allocate people and resources as required.
- Assist in the supervision and coordination of survey personnel on the project, including subcontractors.
- Design, establish and maintain spatial control networks, maintaining core databases, determining spatial relationships within land and geographic information systems.
- Coordinate and carry out site set-out on earthworks, highway/rail structural works and utilities contracts, including the set-up of equipment for survey use, creation of digital models for GNSS and machine control.
- Prepare calculations for quantities and end-of-month claims and submit to Project Management.
- Manage Survey requests via processes and procedures, ensuring they are correctly applied on the project.
About You:
- You will hold a min 3-year degree in a spatial science field, preferably surveying or GIS or design engineering and/or be eligible for registration with the relevant Board of Surveyors or be eligible to hold SSSI’s ESP-AP registration.
- Prior experience across a variety of projects and surveying disciplines with emphasis on experience in surveying in the civil construction industry.
- You will have competency using various computer programs and software platforms.
- Ability to create and maintain data systems, including for design changes, “as built” records and calibration records.
