Human Resources Manager

The Group Human Resources Manager provides strategic leadership, development, and execution of the Group HR function at ConeTec Group. This role ensures HR programs are aligned with corporate objectives across all regions and subsidiaries. It leads a distributed HR team, driving consistency in employment practices while allowing for regional adaptation. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader, collaborative partner, and hands-on coach with global HR expertise and a track record of building high-performing teams. This role also directly manages the ConeTec Canada HR team, ensuring compliance with Canadian legislation and alignment with global strategies.
OVERALL GOALS FOR POSITION
Lead and execute Group HR strategies aligned with laws, customs, and culture. Forecast HR needs in line with growth and operational changes.
Maintain clear role definitions (RACI model) across HR.
Support business unit managers in HR initiatives.
Drive consistency in HR policies and practices.
Implement retention and recruitment programs to meet growth targets.
Foster a strong culture of engagement, performance, and employee experience.
ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
HR Strategy
- Partner with executives to identify workforce needs and priorities.
- Lead HR planning to support growth, restructuring, and integration.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, governance, and regulatory frameworks globally.
- Provide oversight for HR audits, privacy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
Talent Management
- Oversee global talent acquisition, workforce planning, and employer branding.
- Build career pathing and succession frameworks.
- Drive talent mobility and internal promotion initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
- Maintain globally competitive, locally compliant compensation programs.
- Develop reward and recognition strategies.
- Oversee benefits harmonization and policy alignment.
Employee Development
- Implement global performance management systems.
- Expand the ConeTec Leadership Academy and structured development programs.
- Drive accountability through KPIs, feedback, and action plans.
HR Analytics
- Monitor workforce trends, attrition, and engagement.Provide reports and insights to stakeholders.
- Guide workforce planning using analytics and benchmarking.
Culture & Engagement
- Lead employee engagement strategies (surveys, wellness, recognition).
- Reinforce company values and cultivate inclusivity and high performance.
- Promote equal opportunities for career growth.
HR Technology & Systems
- Manage the global HRIS roadmap (BambooHR, CPD, VISION3, SharePoint).
- Drive digital transformation in HR for scalability and employee experience.
- Improve SOPs, policies, and workflows.
Collaboration
- Act as trusted advisor to the COO and executive team.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, BD, HSE, and Legal on initiatives.
- Mentor and manage the global HR team with clear communication.
- Coordinate community and social responsibility initiatives.
- SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- CPHR designation preferred.
Experience requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Global HR experience, with strong exposure to Canada, USA, Australia, South Africa, or LATAM is an asset
- Industry background in construction, engineering, mining, or oil & gas is an asset.
Skill requirements:
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and standards across BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec.
- Familiarity with US federal and state employment laws is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS O365 (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) required.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to optimize HR processes and improve efficiency.
- Strong HRIS experience (BambooHR) and HR tech proficiency.
- Must have advanced data analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Must have exceptional communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Must be able to work well both independently and in a team setting.
- Strong organizational abilities and good time management and project planning abilities.
- Highly self-directed and proactive, with a track record of taking initiative.
- Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally (~10%).
This position is based in Burnaby, BC, with an expectation to work from the office at least 60% of the work time
