NUVIA UK’s Technical Services & Consulting department is fast growing with hybrid opportunities available up and down the country. We’re striving to create a multi-disciplinary team to offer our clients the best range of talent. This opportunity is to support the definition and subsequent delivery of technical materials and manufacturing work packages via an appropriate market route.
BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferable.
Accountabilities of a Principal Engineer –
liaising with technical stakeholders as appropriate to support the following requirements:
Designing characterisation and testing plans and experiments
Writing technical specifications for the procurement of structural materials and related development projects using in-house or external capabilities; working with procurement partners for market route identification and progression for technical projects
Analysing scientific data to extract engineering properties, assess degradation mechanisms and characterise material evolution
Specific Qualifications and Experience of a Project Engineer –
Materials science or engineering degree
Experience working in highly regulated materials science or engineering role
Experience in materials specification development and procurement
Experience in materials and damage characterisation
Experience in and broad understanding of both metallic and non-metallic materials and associated applications
