Airport Maintenance Director F/M
8/13/2025OMA operates 13 international airports in northern and central Mexico: Monterrey, Mexico’s 2nd largest business and industrial metropolis; the tourist destinations Acapulco, Mazatlán, and Zihuatanejo; the regional centers Chihuahua, Culiacán, Durango, San Luís Potosí, Tampico, Torreón and Zacatecas; and the border cities Ciudad Juárez and Reynosa. In 2024 OMA handled 26+ million passengers.
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Airport Maintenance Director (F/M) to lead and oversee maintenance operations across a network of 13 airports. The ideal candidate will bring over a decade of experience in maintenance leadership, with at least 5 years in the airport environment, and a strong background in industrial or manufacturing settings.
This role demands a visionary leader capable of implementing advanced maintenance systems, driving performance through KPIs, and managing large-scale contracts and remote teams.
The missions :
- Lead and coordinate maintenance operations across multiple airport sites.
- Develop and implement a centralized Maintenance Control Center, Dispatch Desk, and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Establish and monitor KPI-based performance management systems to ensure operational excellence.
- Negotiate and manage large-scale maintenance contracts (civil, electromechanical, electrical), ensuring compliance with SLAs.
- Manage budget with clear objectives of cost control and reduction.
- Balance strategic investment and daily operational needs.
- Design and execute overhaul programs for critical infrastructure and systems.
- Build and manage high-performing, geographically distributed maintenance teams.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards across all maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with airport operations, engineering, and external contractors to optimize asset lifecycle and reliability.
- Partner with cross-functional departments to support infrastructure modernization, expansion, and renewal initiatives.
- Integrate innovative solutions to enhance sustainability and minimize the environmental impact of airport operations.
- Travel regularly to oversee operations and ensure consistency across all sites.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance leadership roles.
- At least 5 years of experience in airport maintenance operations.
- Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is highly valued.
- Demonstrated success in implementing CMMS, dispatch systems, and centralized maintenance control.
- Strong background in contract negotiation, SLA management, and vendor oversight.
- Experience developing and managing KPI frameworks.
- Ability to lead remote teams and foster collaboration across multiple locations.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across 13 airports.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
This role is based in Monterrey International Airport, Mexico.
Contract: Initial 3-year appointment, extendable for an additional 3 years.
Travel Requirement : Frequent travel across 13 airport sites in Mexico.
