We are looking for a Tunneling Project Manager to support our growing operations on international tunneling and microtunneling projects (expansion into North America, Middle East and Africa, with over 15-20 worldwide projects per year).

You will report to the Operations Director overseeing project activities. You will join a passionate and specialized team of around 100 professionals, includiTunnelingng project engineers, site managers, foremen, tunnel boring machine operators and multi-skilled technicians.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Independently supervising the project setup, including selecting methods, determining workforce and equipment needs, and scheduling execution plans.
• Ensuring project progress while respecting technical and budgetary constraints and responding to claims.
• Preparing the project's preliminary budget in collaboration with the Operations Department and conducting monthly budget reviews.
• Representing BESSAC in meetings with clients, project owners, design offices, and subcontractors, as well as through written communications.
• Negotiating and managing contractual agreements throughout the project's lifecycle.
• Managing the project team functionally, focusing on efficiency and fostering collective performance.
• Overseeing the implementation of safety and environmental prevention plans.

It’s a challenging program! Central teams such as Operations, Technical Services, Legal, HR, and Finance will support you as needed to ensure project success.

You are the ideal candidate if you have the following skills:

• Candidates for this position typically hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Public Works, or Geotechnics, ideally with a specialization in tunneling or equivalent.
• You have at least 10 years of solid experience managing underground works, public works, or geotechnical projects, with exposure to design-build contracts.
• You excel in team management, working with project teams composed of internal staff, partners, and locally recruited personnel in the countries where we operate.
• As our activity is highly international, fluency in English is required.
• Proficiency in Spanish is a strong advantage, and any additional language skills are welcome.

This position might not be for you if…

You are not interested in extensive travel. Some projects may be located far from urban areas and can last several months. For instance, we have completed microtunneling projects in the Chilean desert for the mining sector, in the Albanian mountains to supply gas to Europe, and along coastlines for outfall pipes or desalination plant supply.
