Key Responsibilities – Senior Project Management in Automation, Controls & Engineering

• Oversee the full project lifecycle for automation, control and electrical engineering contracts from scoping and planning through to installation, commissioning and client handover.
• Develop project plans, budgets, risk assessments and schedules to ensure timely, profitable and high-quality project completion that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
• Lead, coordinate and mentor multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers, maintaining a strong focus on collaboration and safety.
• Act as the client’s primary point of contact, building trusted relationships through proactive communication, progress updates and prompt issue resolution.
• Monitor project KPIs, change control and resource allocation, taking ownership of performance and commercial outcomes.
• Champion health, safety and environmental excellence across all project activities in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence across all aspects of project delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience – Senior Project Manager Job Requirements

• Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or related technical discipline.
• Significant project management experience within the automation, control systems, electrical engineering, or industrial projects sector.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering medium to large-scale projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Exceptional organisational, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Competent in project management tools, risk management, financial control and reporting.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally, nationally, and internationally as project requirements dictate.

Desirable Experience – Industrial Automation, Controls & Engineering Solutions

• APM, Prince2, Microsoft Projects or relevant project management qualifications or certifications.
• Background in delivering projects within regulated, manufacturing, utilities or process industries (e.g. food & beverage, water, energy).
• Exposure to digital transformation, Industry 4.0 or smart automation initiatives.
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical, control or automation systems such as PLC, SCADA, HMI is advantageous.
