We're on the hunt for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead critical civil works on a major infrastructure project.
Are you a confident and proactive Project Controls Lead ready to make an impact on major infrastructure project? with substantial, proven experience in cost control and earned value management, you’ll take charge of project controls across multiple zones, managing cost, risk, and performance while working closely with planning and scheduling teams in a dynamic matrix environment. Your strong leadership and communication skills will help you influence cross-functional teams and drive project success. Experience with ControlPro, earned value systems, and integrated cost, schedule, and risk management will set you apart. ABOUT THE ROLE:
• Develop and Manage Project Cost Control Processes.
Establish, implement, and oversee commercial project cost control and reporting procedures, including month-end financial close, accruals, cost recording, forecasting, earned value measurement, and related audits to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
• Monitor and Report Project Performance.
Set up and maintain effective project monitoring systems focused on time, cost, and resource tracking. Provide clear, timely reporting that enables proactive control of project budget and schedule in alignment with company policies.
• Lead and Supervise Project Controls Team.
Provide leadership and functional oversight to staff involved in project and cost control activities, including training and guidance on systems, data interpretation, and best practices to promote a strong project controls culture.
• Collaborate with Project Teams to Support Delivery.
Interface closely with project and delivery managers to gather data, analyse project performance, identify risks/opportunities early, and support corrective action planning to keep projects on track.
• Ensure Compliance and Continuous Improvement.
Ensure all project controls activities comply with internal policies, adopt core safety and environmental values, and contribute to benchmarking and lessons learned to improve future project planning and delivery.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture or Project Management, or equivalent experience
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in Construction, Engineering, Commercial Project / Cost Control, Earned Value, Risks Management, Change Control.
• Multi-disciplined Commercial Project/Cost Control experience ideally for Major Projects.
• Leadership and management of Commercial Project/Cost Control teams.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and Project / Cost Control and Earned Value systems.
• Current c-class driver’s licence.
