About the Role
The Panel Wire Person will be responsible for assembling and wiring electrical control panels to engineering drawings and specifications. You will work closely with panel build teams, electrical fitters and commissioning engineers to ensure assemblies are completed to schedule and meet quality and safety standards.
Main Responsibilities
Assemble electrical enclosures and fit components such as DIN rails, terminal blocks, circuit breakers, relays and PLCs.
Wire control panels to schematic drawings and wiring diagrams, ensuring correct wire identification and routing.
Terminate cables, crimp ferrules, dress wiring neatly and apply labelling to meet client and company standards.
Carry out continuity, insulation and functional checks as required and record inspection results.
Work from build packs and BOMs, report discrepancies and support purchasing or design teams where necessary.
Maintain a clean and organised work area and comply with health, safety and quality procedures.
Support commissioning teams on-site when required and provide handover information to clients.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience wiring electrical control panels or similar assemblies in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Competent reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
Skilled in cable preparation, ferrules, crimps, sleeving and neat cable routing.
Good hand skills and attention to detail with a pride in workmanship and quality.
Basic electrical safety knowledge; formal electrical qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ) or equivalent are desirable.
Experience with control components such as PLCs, contactors, relays and HMIs is an advantage.
Ability to work to deadlines, follow processes and contribute positively within a team.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites occasionally.
