About the Role

Actemium Automation Hampshire is seeking an experienced AVEVA System Platform Specialist to support the design, development, commissioning and lifecycle management of industrial automation and control systems. This is a technically focused role working with customers, project teams and engineers to deliver robust, scalable and high-performing automation solutions.

You will contribute across the full project lifecycle, from requirements capture and system architecture through to software development, testing, commissioning and ongoing support. Working across manufacturing, industrial and infrastructure environments, you will help deliver solutions that improve operational performance, reliability, safety and data visibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and configure AVEVA System Platform solutions for industrial automation projects.

• Develop and maintain AVEVA InTouch applications, ArchestrA objects, graphics, templates, scripts and system configurations.

• Translate customer requirements, functional specifications and process information into effective control system solutions.

• Integrate AVEVA System Platform with PLC, SCADA, HMI, historian, MES, SQL and other industrial systems.

• Configure communications and data interfaces using appropriate industrial protocols and technologies.

• Produce functional design specifications, software documentation, test plans, system manuals and project records.

• Work collaboratively with control engineers, electrical engineers, project managers, customers and third-party suppliers.

• Participate in factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning and customer handover activities.

• Investigate and resolve software, database, communications and system integration issues.

• Provide technical support, system upgrades, modifications and continuous improvement for existing installations.

• Ensure automation solutions meet project requirements, engineering standards, cybersecurity expectations and customer specifications.

• Support estimation, technical proposals, project planning and the development of standardised automation solutions.

• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, compliance and customer satisfaction throughout project delivery.

• Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to colleagues, supporting the development of automation engineering capability.

• Consistently apply Quartz principles and be a guardian for the basic values of Actemium.

About You

• Demonstrable experience developing and implementing AVEVA System Platform solutions in an industrial automation, manufacturing or process control environment.

• Strong practical knowledge of AVEVA System Platform, ArchestrA and InTouch applications.

• Experience with industrial control systems, SCADA, HMI, PLCs, databases and system integration.

• Understanding of industrial communications and protocols such as OPC, Modbus, Ethernet/IP or equivalent technologies.

• Experience with scripting, SQL databases and troubleshooting automation software and communications networks.

• Ability to interpret control philosophies, P&IDs, functional specifications and electrical or instrumentation documentation.

• Experience participating in FAT, SAT, commissioning and site-based project activities.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to software development, testing and documentation.

• Confident communicating with customers, suppliers, project teams and stakeholders at all levels.

• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively on multiple projects.

• Commitment to safe working practices, quality standards and professional engineering conduct.

• Relevant qualification in Automation Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Willingness to travel to customer sites and project locations as required.

• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

• AVEVA System Platform or InTouch certification.

• Experience with AVEVA Historian, OMI, MES or related AVEVA technologies.

• Experience integrating SCADA and control systems with business, manufacturing or enterprise applications.

• Knowledge of industrial networking, virtualisation, Windows Server and automation system cybersecurity.

• Experience working within regulated industries or safety-critical environments.

• Professional membership of an engineering body or progress towards professional registration.
