Principal Primary Engineer (KP)

Principal Primary Engineer

Kelvin Power is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our growing team on a permanent basis. This role supports our increasing workload and the development of major infrastructure projects in the Energy Sector.

Kelvin Power is a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with a team of 40 experienced professionals delivering solutions across the UK and ROI.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in the substation engineering function
  • Take a leading role in growing capability and turnover from substation engineering projects for Kelvin Power
  • Act as a checker/approver and technical governance manager for deliverables in substation design and related disciplines
  • Provide technical supervision in engineering projects related to Kelvin Power and Vinci
  • Lead client engagement, develop proposals, win work, deliver projects, and empower team members to assist in business growth
  • Provide technical expertise to other Vinci Energies groups (e.g., Omexom), securing pipeline and ensuring group-wide success
  • Embrace innovation and implement new solutions/technologies in the substation design engineering domain
  • Act as an industry expert, showcasing Kelvin Power and Vinci Energies’ technical excellence at conferences, workshops, and industry forums

Key Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ industry experience in HV Primary plant designs
  • Proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects to tight deadlines
  • Excellent detailing skills
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and ability to translate requirements to CAD
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (Chartered Engineer status highly desirable)
