Job Title: Project Manager

Reporting to: Business Unit General Manager

Purpose of the Position:

This role focuses on the safe, efficient delivery of work to the highest possibly standards,

and exceptional delivery of projects to the highest standards of safety and quality within budget and

time constraints. The ideal person for this role will be able to always maximise productivity and control costs and programme, while maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders to develop a relationship of trust.

This position will report directly to the Business Unit General Manager.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Including but not limited to the following:

  • Overall responsibility for managing and delivering all projects assigned to you.
  • Lead and maintain a positive health, safety, wellbeing and quality culture on assigned projects
  • Assist the preconstruction team with the build up of project cost, programmes, resource profiles and technical submissions.
  • Ensuring the “Preconstruction handover process” is carried out effectively with the preconstruction team as documented & within an agreed timescale prior to mobilisation.
  • Carry out and support project and site audits as an when required to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and continuous improvement is embedded.
  • Management of the project contracts and associated processes in line with the relevant overarching agreements including effective management of project change.
  • Lead the project team to monitor, collate, update and report on project data including commercial, programme, SHEQ and all other KPIs required.
  • Ensuring the timely placing of Contract/subcontract to meet the project requirements including the development of RfQ and challenging terms and conditions to reflect “value for money” in conjunction with the commercial and procurement functions.
  • Ensure all application for payments are raised and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Always encourage use of “best practices” so as to ensure maximum utilisation of time,

materials and resources.

  • Positively challenge all our processes, systems, and methodologies to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Encourage staff at all levels to take ownership of their business and contribute to its

continuing success by encouraging and developing commercial awareness in everything they do.

  • Lead in the updating of our “overall” work programme & resource” schedule and look ahead.
  • Responsible for resource allocation in conjunction with the Business Unit General Manager
  • Act as a role model for Omexom Company Values

Person Specification

Qualifications and experience

  • A track record of effective project management with the ability to manage large scale projects or packages of work.
  • Experience of:
  • Meeting targets in a commercial environment.
  • Managing and reporting of budgets, programme, and other required project metrics against established baselines.
  • Management of various types of project change.
  • Management of health, safety, wellbeing and quality within the project setting
  • The ability to:
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to improve project delievry
  • Plan works in the most efficient manner.
  • Manage and motivate the project team.
  • To put the customer at the centre of decision making.
  • To deliver strong financial performance in a contracting environment.

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience at Project Manager level within the Transmission and Distribution section is desirable, but not essential. Experience of a related infrastructure discipline would also be advantageous.
  • Hold a recognised project management qualification e.g., APMP (Level D)
