Project Manager M/F
What is the role?
As a Project Manager, you are a highly organized and motivated individual. You take directions well but are also an independent self-starter. You will effectively manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines. Strong attention to detail and working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment are key attributes you must possess.
The Project Manager reports to the Business Unit Manager and provides leadership in expanding market awareness and building a reputation as an excellent bridge construction contractor; developing new markets consistent with the company’s goals and increasing business through successful contract bidding; positively managing contracts/agreements and directing employees in delivering on contracts/agreements; identifying company and division direction and strategically managing all resources in achieving goals. Duties are:
-Responsible for overall work quality. Develop and implement processes and measures to track, monitor, and maintain work quality and contract/partnership commitments. Complete projects within timelines, at the lowest possible cost, and high-quality standards
-Use best practices to acquire, allocate, manage, and maintain the human, financial, and capital resources of the company
-Design and maintain the infrastructures and organization for efficient and effective work and self-management. Encourage new initiatives, process improvement, and cost reductions. Analyze the operations and provide direction in the implementation of new ideas
-Build and maintain business relationships and partnerships. Monitor industry trends for business opportunities, determine target markets and interact with customers and potential customers to increase market awareness, grow the business, negotiate contracts/partnerships, solve problems and solicit feedback. -Develop trust and respect in the marketplace being known as a good honest contractor
-Represent the company and contribute to working industry related committees
-Determine financial margins/pricing of tender jobs and which jobs will be bid based upon company strategy and workload
-Ensure safety standards/training follow the Corporate Safety Program
-Other duties as assigned
What do we value?
-Minimum 3 years of bridge construction experience
-Excellent computer skills
-Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License
-Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering
-P.Eng or C.E.T. Designation
-Strategic planning and the ability to communicate the plan in operational detail. -Able to think in short and long term
-Knowledge of industry trends and able to identify new business opportunities
-Able to plan work to make a profit
-Able to design and implement work processes
-Approachable and open minded. Open to suggestions and able to implement them
-Excellent time management and planning skills with an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Well organized
