Exciting opportunity! We’re looking for a skilled Method & Maintenance Planning Lead (FPSO & Marine Operations) to join our team, based in Nigeria.
As a Method & Maintenance Planning Lead , you will be based in COMPANY offices in Lagos managing 5 planners.
You will report directly to the Project Manager on all technical topics specially on KPI results.
An offshore site visit is planned every quarterly, your key responsibilities will include:
Short Description:
The Method & Maintenance Planning Lead will oversee and coordinate planning activities for FPSO maintenance operations, ensuring alignment with offshore industry standards and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on managing a multidisciplinary team of planners , instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and third-party contracts) while driving efficiency in workflows and asset reliability. This position demands expertise in marine certifications performed by Bureau Veritas (BV) and deep knowledge of FPSO systems.
The Method & Maintenance Planning will also supervise and coach a team of planners, including a mechanic, an electrician, an instrumentation specialist, and a service contract planner.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
• Develop and implement maintenance planning strategies for FPSO and offshore operations.
• Knowledge of marine certification processes performed by Bureau Veritas (BV), ensuring compliance with regulatory and class standards.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with marine teams, surveyors, and BV inspectors, ensuring that survey and maintenance tasks are clearly understood and executed.
• Experienced in collaborating with third-party contractors for essential inspections like underwater hull surveys, lifting gear certification, and lifeboat testing.
• Detail-oriented approach to tracking certification timelines and ensuring timely submission of deliverables to BV.
• Ability to align maintenance and inspection tasks with BV regulatory timelines and requirements to ensure compliance and readiness for certification.
• Coordinate daily and long-term scheduling for preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Supervise a team of planners specialized in instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and third-party resources.
• Ensure optimal use of CMMS tools (SAP) for work order planning and execution.
• Oversee asset integrity programs, inspection schedules, and condition monitoring for marine, hull, and topside systems.
• Review and approve work orders and proper execution of maintenance documentation.
• Monitor adherence to KPIs, such as downtime reduction, schedule compliance, and asset reliability.
• Facilitate operational audits, training, and reporting in alignment with industry best practices.
Requirements:
Native or fluent in English
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions
Strong leadership and authority, able to inspire confidence and assert authority when needed
Problem-solving mindset and proactive approach
Nigerian or expatriate
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the field
Proficient in SAP
Starting date: ASAP
Location: Nigeria.
