Business systems administrator

Job Title: Business systems administrator
Reports To: Systems Manager

Health and Safety Statement

Under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (HASAWA), NorPower has a legal duty to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety, and welfare of its employees and others who may be affected by its operations.

As an employee, you are also responsible under HASAWA for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be impacted by your actions or omissions. You are expected to cooperate fully with NorPower and your colleagues to help meet all relevant legal and organisational obligations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the company’s Information Management System (IMS).

  • Manage document control activities in line with review cycles detailed in the Master Document Register, including notifying relevant personnel and updating system records.

  • Ensure accurate and secure handling of all controlled documentation.

  • Monitor the Improvement Register, tracking progress and ensuring timely implementation of identified actions.

  • Maintain and follow the IMS maintenance calendar, ensuring scheduled tasks are completed.

  • Implement and oversee client-specific project documentation and control requirements.

  • Assist in capturing and organising data for analysis and reporting, ensuring it is readily accessible.

  • Administer material delivery notes and update the Materials Received Register accordingly.

  • Carry out additional duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Key Competencies

Essential:

  • Proficient in IT systems and digital tools

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

  • Experience with document control systems or quality management systems

  • Familiarity with ISO standards or similar compliance frameworks

  • Previous experience in a similar administrative or systems-based role
