Job Description – Senior Site Engineer (Civil)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Site Engineer (Civil) with extensive experience in High Voltage Transmission and Distribution (T&D) projects. The role involves managing site execution, ensuring quality and safety compliance, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and delivering civil construction support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise all civil construction activities at site.
• Execute construction of control buildings, GIS buildings, relay rooms, and associated infrastructure.
• Oversee excavation, RCC, structural works, masonry, waterproofing, and finishing works.
• Supervise cable trenching and drainage systems ensuring alignment, slope, and compliance.
• Monitor construction of foundations for transformers, switchyard equipment, and support structures.
• Ensure execution as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and project schedule.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and commissioning teams.
• Plan manpower, materials, and equipment deployment for optimum productivity.
• Implement quality control measures and conduct regular inspections.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct safety audits.
• Liaise with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders for smooth project execution.
• Prepare daily and weekly project progress reports.
• Identify and resolve site challenges such as soil conditions, utilities, and delays.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
• 7–10 years of overall experience in civil construction projects.
• Minimum 5 years experience in T&D, substations (GIS/AIS), or EPC infrastructure projects.
• Experience in control buildings, equipment foundations, cable trenches, and site development works.
• Strong knowledge of construction standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in managing subcontractors and coordinating cross-functional teams.
