BIM Manager

Job Title: BIM Manager

Reporting to: Business Unit General Manager (BUGM)

Business Unit: Omexom Design

Purpose of the Position:

The BIM Managers function is to deliver the group BIM strategy at both Business unit and project level; and manage the implementation of the Omexom BIM processes, procedures and best practice across the business functions.

They will support both bids and live projects with understanding and responding to the BIM requirements and where appropriate, setting out a strategy which aligns with the client’s needs and the supply chains capabilities;

Encourage the development of skills, awareness and understanding of all relevant staff through training and ongoing support so that BIM duties are and can be ultimately undertaken by the project or bid team.

Engage with and upskill other business functions including Work Winning & estimating, Planning, Engineering, SHEQ, Business development, Supply chain partners and Quantity Surveying in BIM / Digital Construction.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Including but not limited to:

  • Review and respond to Client EIRs and create/manage BEP’s the oversee the Information Management Process
  • Ensure compliance with the standards and process outlined in the project BEP ensuring that they are adhered to internally and externally
  • Review / Approve / Reject 3D Models and data from consultants and contractors for accuracy, completeness and timely delivery on CDE - Ensure accurate model deliverables are produced in line with project requirements.
  • Lead software appraisal and innovation for continuous improvement in BIM
  • Manage consultant relationship and expectations to ensure compliance with BEP commitments such as clash detection outputs are available prior to Design Review
  • Manage the creation of (or create) visual walkthroughs using appropriate technologies to address project requirement, i.e. site induction, method statements etc
  • Support handover processes by ensuring data-rich models are structured for asset management.
  • Manage the establishment of;
  • - regular coordination meetings held by project team members
  • - design reviews and constructability analysis
  • - training staff and stakeholder engagement

The BIM Manager will maintain strong relationships and typically interface with:

  • Business Unit General Manager
  • Head of BIM & Digital
  • BIM Coordinators
  • Planners
  • Lead Design Engineers
  • Client representatives
  • Internal Design Teams

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong mix of technical BIM Management expertise, sector-specific experience, and a collaborative approach to project delivery. They will be able to work independently whilst enjoy being part of a friendly, ambitious and growing team.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in a BIM Manager role.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM standards (ISO 19650, BS/PAS 1192).
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Fuzor (or equivalent platforms).
  • Experience with digital twins, 4D/5D modelling, or integration with GIS/ERP systems.
  • Experience in model federation and clash detection.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to lead coordination meetings.
  • Experience managing CDE platforms (e.g., ACC, Viewpoint, ProjectWise).
  • Ability to manage both strategic and hands-on responsibilities

Desirable Criteria

  • Professional certification in BIM (e.g. BRE, BSI, building SMART).
  • Chartership or membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. ICE, CIOB, RIBA, UK BIM
  • Alliance, IET).
  • Knowledge of NEC3/4 and digital delivery obligations under contract.
  • Awareness or interest in Autodesk APIs for workflow automation.
  • Experience developing TIDP/MIDP workflows in alignment with ISO 19650
  • Significant construction experience on large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
