Location: Actemium Automation Nottingham – Main Office (Ilkeston)
Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Salary: £50k–£60k (experience dependent)

We’re Actemium Automation Nottingham, part of the global VINCI Group, and we’re looking for a Senior Control Systems Engineer who thrives on innovation, collaboration, and delivering cutting-edge Siemens-based solutions.


‍♂️ What You'll Do

As a Senior Controls Engineer, you’ll lead the design, development, and commissioning of advanced control systems built around Siemens platforms. Your expertise will ensure seamless integration and high-performance solutions for our clients.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Driving projects through the full lifecycle – from concept to commissioning

  • Designing and reviewing Siemens-based control architectures

  • Developing PLC, HMI, and SCADA software primarily on Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC

  • Performing FAT/SAT testing with customers

  • On-site commissioning and delivering Siemens-focused training sessions


What You Bring

  • Strong experience with Siemens PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms (TIA Portal, WinCC)

  • Ability to interpret and produce detailed Siemens control system documentation

  • Solid understanding of Siemens safety and networking standards

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with confidence in making technical decisions

  • Familiarity with other major platforms is a plus, but Siemens expertise is key
