We take care of the installation, maintenance, and design of systems such as automatic signaling devices at level crossings, wayside inspection systems (hot box, dragging detectors, etc.), centralized traffic control systems (CTC), and electric and hydraulic switches. Our professionals also offer various specialized training in railway signaling directly at our facilities to meet the needs of our clients. Although our company is mainly based in Quebec, we operate across Canada wherever railway networks are present. We meet the needs of our clients and provide quality services, regardless of their location.
Job Description
As an S&C Signal Maintainer, you play a key role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of railway operations. In this position, you will report to the Signal Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and maintenance of railway signaling systems and related equipment.
You will apply your expertise in mechanical systems, electrical work, and industrial maintenance to maintain the reliability and performance of signaling infrastructure, including signals, switches, relays, and track circuits. Your experience with programmable logic controllers and industrial electrical systems will further support effective diagnostics and preventive maintenance activities.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with team members and stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted railway operation
Main Responsibilities
- Test and verify the proper operation of signals & communications systems and equipment.
- Investigate and locate problems or failures and take appropriate corrective action (including on-call response).
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment operates reliably at all times.
- Operate on-track and highway vehicles safely.
- Ensure all work is documented accurately and in compliance with railway standards and
safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members, contractors, and other stakeholders to complete projects efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and work practices, including working at heights and near live tracks.
Requirements
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively.
- Railway signaling training certificate (asset).
- Railway CROR certification (asset).
- Post-secondary education in electromechanical or auto mechanics (asset).
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical information.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work safely.
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical tasks (including lifting and/or moving up to 60 lbs).
- Valid class 5 driver's license (class 3 and/or 1 is an asset).
- Availability to work different shifts, including weekends and nights.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
- Willingness to travel to remote work sites if necessary.
- Successful completion of eRailSafe Canada compliance check.
- Ability to follow various required training courses.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Proficiency in French, both spoken and written (asset).

Work schedule
- Variable:
8-hour daytime shifts, Monday to Friday, with on-call rotation during nights and
