MISSION
The Marine Senior Engineer will provide marine technical and engineering support for the German Offshore Wind Projects (N-12.1, O-2.2, N-9.4). This includes the Transport & Installation phase as well as future Operations & Maintenance. The role focuses on marine logistics, vessel management, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, while supporting safe and efficient offshore operations. Collaboration with internal teams, contractors, vessel operators, and authorities is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Marine Operations & Logistics: Define and manage marine operational requirements for installation and O&M phases, including vessel types, port logistics, and offshore coordination.
- Tender & Project Support: Prepare technical specifications, evaluate vessel capabilities, review Marine Logistics Plans, and support risk assessments and interface management.
- Construction Phase Preparation: Develop the Marine Coordination Plan, oversee vessel approvals, coordinate Marine Coordination Center activities, and ensure contractor compliance.
- O&M Support: Contribute to vessel procurement, follow-up on commissioning, and ensure readiness for Operations & Maintenance.
- HSE Responsibilities: Develop marine HSE procedures, emergency response plans, risk assessments, and training programs; ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safety culture.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain project records, permits, and operational documentation; coordinate with HSE and project teams for consistent reporting.
CONTEXT
The role is part of a Paris-based team supporting offshore wind projects in Germany (North & Baltic Seas) under the client’s Renewables division. Occasional travel within Europe, particularly Hamburg, may be required.
- Hold or have held Merchant Marine Master or Chief Engineer certification (unlimited tonnage / power) or Degree in Marine Engineering. Expert level,
- Minimum 10 years of experience of at least half as Master or Chief Engineer on a complex offshore support vessel (e.g. diving support or construction vessels). Expert level,
- Proven experience in Offshore Wind industry (minimum 5 years): installation and commissioning phases,
- Experiences in T&I and Chartering contract types,
- Knowledge of DP systems and marine coordination software,
- Strong knowledge of offshore vessel types (e.g., CLV, CTVs, SOVs, jack-ups, cable-layers),
- Familiarity with offshore construction methodologies and marine logistics,
- Ability to work closely with various stakeholders including but not limited to diverse international teams, vendors & subcontractors, affiliates, Onetech Technical Lines, HQ, etc.,
- Familiarity with : Microsoft 365, SharePoint, NEW PRODOM (EDMS & Interface Management), GIS, ERP, AGORA, and other project-specific tools.
- Organizational skills, excellent communication,
- Ability to formalize fluently and legibly concepts and instructions, in oral and written communication. Master level
provider must ensure fluency in English. French and German language is a benefit.
