Survey Manager F/H
06/01/2026What is the project?
The Ontario Line South. A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River). The scope of the Project includes the design, construction, and handover of all tunnels (twin tube of 6 km each), 7 stations (turnkey for: 1 station at grade and 6 underground stations) and civil works.
What you will do:
The Survey Manager supports the project in all matters related to Topography/Cartography including acting as the lead checker, designing the primary control network and deciding on the survey instrumentation for the stations and tunneling.
Concretely, your tasks will be:
- Organization of the Survey Department, proposing an organization chart & budget for the department to the High Management for approval.
- Representing the survey department to other departments, subcontractors, third parties and to the Contracting Authority.
- Act as lead checker in survey matters helping Construction Technical Office or any other department of the project.
- Design primary control network and establish the criteria for the secondary and subsequent networks (tunnels included).
- Deciding on the adequate survey instrumentation & software for manual monitoring, stations and tunneling.
- Handling all Survey Legal matters.
- Comply with the requirements of the Project Agreement related to the Survey by submitting documents and replying to comments from CA.
- Attend meetings with CA when necessary.
- Prepare technical variations where appropriate.
- Prepare the scope of work & technical requirements, applicable codes and standards, schedule, responsibility matrix and deliverables for the contracts and change orders.
- Ask for quotations, enclosing them with the purchase requests.
- Ensure that all Survey procedures comply with project safety standards.
- Ensure that everyone strictly complies with all safety measures to avoid accidents at all costs.
- Design of internal workflows, plans, procedures, and quality processes.
- Supervise the inventory of equipment and tools.
- Attend internal and external audits.
- Stablish the general guidelines to ensure the implementation of appropriate workflows of survey tasks. Optimize the Survey Request procedure.
- Approve the internal reports derived from survey requests and upload them to the EDMS.
- Optimizing purchasing and budget/subcontractors progress tracking.
- Propose budget variations if they are detected.
- Degree in survey /Civil Engineering
- Over 15 years’ experience
- Better to be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Auto Cad software.
- Large project Civil /MEP/Architectural. GCC Experience beneficial but not essential
- He must be familiar with equipment such as GPS, Total Station and Level instrument.
- Excellent organization skills, Team Player, Self-Driven, taking initiatives & enthusiastic.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Gross annual salary between 130K and 160K, depending on experience and profile;
