The Company
VINCI Construction Grands Projets USA (formally VINCI Construction LLC) is a subsidiary of VINCI Construction Grands Projets with its main office located in Alexandria, Virginia. The scope of the company is general contracting and construction work, along with any associated services related to large, selected Design and Build projects, either public or private for which it can bring clear and strong added value. We aim to develop engineering and construction services for large infrastructure projects in various parts in the United States and provide a highly skilled and competitive professional service in construction field.Project Overview:
The Walsh-VINCI Transit Community Partners (WVTCP) Joint Venture consisting of VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Walsh Construction has been selected to construct the $2.9BN Design Build Red Line Extension (RLE) project – the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The RLE Mainline Design-Build (MDB) Project will extend the CTA's Red Line by 5.6 miles, extending from the existing terminal at 95th/Dan Ryan south to 130th Street and Doty Avenue.Responsibilities:
As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the management and compliance of the project safety program for an assigned area. Supervise, develop, and manage other safety professionals under their area of responsibility to ensure the effective administration of the project/company accident prevention effortsSchedule and conduct safety meetings and safety training programs as required by the area for all personnel engagedCoordinate and participate in intra-agency meetings including coordination of rescue response to the incident site, the development of joint training exercises, and developing a schedule for regular familiarity trips to the tunnel for EMS personnelInitiate, perform, and document jobsite inspections and audits with special emphasis on hazard recognition, unsafe behaviors, and correction of potential third party, asset loss, and workers’ compensation losses. This necessitates the ability to think independently, communicate thoroughly, and facilitate the implementation of corrections/behaviorsCoordinate and control the development and review of job hazard analysis for each phase of our work to ensure its safe completion. This includes assessing the need for and facilitating training as may be requiredSubmit copies of all safety records along with all safety inspection reports and certifications from regulating agencies and insurance companiesCoordinate and participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulationsConduct site inspections of project work areas and equipmentDevelop, organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safety standardsAssisting in the investigation of incidents and determining root causes and recommend corrective/preventive measuresQualifications: Required Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.Valid Driving License to drive in the state of Illinois.Ability to write and review reports, procedure manuals, processes.Ability to collect and review technical content of materials certificates and associated datasheets.Well organized, flexible, detail-oriented and multi-tasked.Knowledge and experience of working to FTA, IDOT, and ASTM standards.Proficiency in Microsoft Office. · Proficiency in quality management through Document Control Systems.Ability to gather, analyze, evaluate, and take decisions based on facts.Can deliver reports in an objective, clear, and comprehensive manner.Has good interpersonal and communication skills.Is good at building relationships and can influence effectively.Can demonstrate initiative and resilience.Quality subject matter expertise and proven track record in Quality Control
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.Experience relevant to transportation projects would be an asset.Experience in a similar role, e.g. lab manager, materials technician, etc.… and knowledge of the Buy America Build America requirements would be an asset.Certified as a Quality professional, e.g. ASQ certification
Salary Range
: $100,000.00 to $130,000.00Work Environment:
Required to stand, sit, walk, and/or climb stairs or ladders.Involves a dynamic and challenging work environment.Indoor and outdoor work in the hot and coldFast-paced environment that may require long hours, including nights and weekendsRequired to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective vests when on-sitePhysical Demands:
